Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question!

Reiki energy work is guiding energy to a person or animal to promote healing. Reiki can involve no contact or light touch. The goal of Reiki is to help guide energy to open and balance the chakras to promote healing.

Reiki is not a religion and is not related to a particular religious practice.

I am a second level Reiki practitioner to which I can practice in person by touch and by distance healing.

Canine massage therapy involves manipulating soft tissue to promote blood flow and restore function to the muscles. Every massage is tailored to the individual dog and their specific needs.

Canine massage therapy sessions take roughly one hour depending on the size of the dog.

The first appointment may take longer as many dogs are not accustomed to staying still and accepting touch for that period of time. I allow dogs to tell me when they need a break and walk away before starting again.

Canine massage sessions generally take place at the dog's home wether inside or out. Generally, the rule of thumb is wherever the dog is most comfortable!

Equine Massage Therapy involves manipulating soft tissue to promote blood flow and restore function to the muscles. Every massage is tailored to each horse and their specific needs.

I offer 1 hour sessions and deep tissue sessions for equines. 1 Hour sessions generally last one hour with some time for questions or stretches at the end. Deep tissue sessions last between 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the size of the horse.

Equine sessions take place at the horse's stables or show grounds. I do not accept haul-ins at this time.

Massage therapy can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve circulation, relieve pain and tension, and promote relaxation and overall well-being.

For dogs and horses specifically, massage helps competition performance, prevents injury, aids in recovery, and helps maintain body condition.

The frequency of massage sessions will depend on your animal's individual needs and goals. Every animal is different and will have different needs.

Generally speaking, horses and dogs without injury greatly benefit being on a monthly massage schedule.

Unfortunately, I had to make a written cancellation policy. Due to the price of gas and distance of appointments, last minute cancellations can make or break my day. In order to avoid travel fees for my clients outside of 50 miles, I do my best to plan routes in which the amount of appointments in a day keeps me in the black even without a travel fee. When one or two of these appointments cancel my route falls apart. It is not fair to ask my clients that kept their appointments to pay last minute travel fees. This has left me with long days of driving with little to no profit. Without adequate warning I can not fill the cancelled appointment.

Clients that cancel twice within the 72 hours of their appointment are subject to pay FULL PRICE at the time of booking for future appointments.

  • Grooming Fee is required for horses that have visible mud, dirt, sand, wet body coat, or product on their body above their knees/hocks. This is due to the extra time it takes me to brush off a horse before an appointment and the damage it causes my hands. If I work over the mud/dirt/sand/etc. it will exfoliate my hands to the point of cracking/rubbing the skin off.

  • Turning In/Out Fee is required for horses that either need to be caught and turned in for me to work on them and/or need to be turned out after their appointment. Not only does this take extra time out of my day, but it is also dangerous for me to go into a field of horses I do not know. It also runs the risk of the wrong horse being turned in/worked on (ever been in a large field of solid bay horses you don't know?).

  • If I need to catch and turn in your horse, the Grooming Fee is automatically added to your bill as I know your horse is dirty coming straight in from a field.

Please have your horse stalled or tied, groomed, and dry.

If you can not be there at the time of the appointment, please provide the information below:

  • Where is your horse?
    • (stall number, barn appearance, etc)
  • Are there any safety concerns I should know about?
    • Is the horse girthy?
    • Does your horse kick or pin it's ears in certain areas?
    • Does your horse paw?
    • Is your horse mouthy or nippy?
    • Previous injuries?
  • If there is a need, who can I contact on property?
  • Does your horse cross tie or tie in their stall?
    • *IF YOUR HORSE DOES NOT SAFELY TIE, YOU NEED TO BE PRESENT TO HOLD THEM*
  • Will your horse be clean?
    • If not, please leave out a brush
    • You will be charged a grooming fee of $5
  • Can your horse be fly sprayed?
    • If yes, please leave out a bottle
